LAS VEGAS, NV December 16, 2016

World Series of Fighting – Global Championship (WSOF-GC) has announced the signing of a strategic agreement with Philippines based promotion, Underground Battle MMA. The first regional event scheduled under the WSOF-GC promotional banner will take place on January 22 with Underground Battle MMA 13 in Manila, powered by World Series of Fighting Global Championship.

“This is the first step down an exciting road for us,” states WSOF-GC President, Shawn Wright. “We want to bring the very best of MMA to all parts of the world, as well as bring the best MMA from other parts of the world together under one banner. By having UGB MMA become an official partner, we hope to bring fights from the Philippines to our audience. It has never been our intention to come into a new market and try to take away from what other fine organizations are already doing. We want to work with other promotions to help grow their brand with ours and assist in that exposure anyway that we can.  The Philippine people are some of the greatest fight fans and we are excited to have our brand represented there.”

"We are honored to become an official partner of the famous World Series of Fighting Global Championship, which has done a tremendous job introducing MMA to the rest of the world," said Faizan Fayaz of UGB MMA Championship. "As WSOF-GC continues to extend its reach and engage fight fans with thrilling matches, we look forward to providing the highest quality regional experience in the Philippines to enhance the fan experience and support WSOF Global’s expansion into the international stage.  It's great to provide our fighters a platform for world recognition, and give our fans a fantastic opportunity to support them. We are again honored to be a part of the WSOF Global family and look forward to bigger and better shows in the entire region."

Underground Battle MMA 13: Foreign Invasion will feature a main event for UGB MMA’s Middleweight Championship between Philippines’ Mark Palomar (2-1) and former ONE FC competitor, USA’s Brad Robinson (2-1). In the two co-main events, two great prospects from Pakistan will be competing against rising talent from the Philippines. Pakistan’s Ahmed Mujtaba (3-0) takes on Philippines’ Rodian Menchavez for the inaugural UGB MMA Featherweight Championship; whereas Pakistan’s Uloomi Karim (4-3) will compete against Philippines’ Welmil Graves (2-0) for UGB MMA’s first-ever Bantamweight Championship. Karim is a former VCL Bantamweight Champion who will be looking forward to showcasing his exciting fighting style against the Battle of Beasts Muay Thai Champion Graves.

In keeping with WSOF-GC’s premise of showcasing fighters from across the globe, other exciting fights on the card include Tajikistan’s Salim Mukhidinov (2-1) against Philippines’ Mario Sismundo (1-1). Pakistan’s Haider Farman will face Philippine’s RJ Redula in a debut fight for each competitor. With three title fights scheduled, the proud and mighty Filipino warriors look to defend their territory against foreign fighters in five different matchups. Seven additional bouts round out the card, with all fighters eager to impress and excited for the opportunity to compete at WSOF Global. It’s going to be a treat for every viewer.
